Salary Assessment Unit
As from 1st November 2006 a Salary Assessment Unit has been set up in Christchurch to process all types of Teaching Staff Salary Assessments, Improved Qualifications, Service.
Increments and Relevant Work Experience Credits for teaching employees who are new or returning to the Education Payroll after a break in service for the Ministry of Education Service Payroll.

All forms have been renamed and have a specific number:
- Teaching Staff Application for Salary Assessment (ESP7)
- Teaching Staff Application for New/Improved/Additional Qualifications (ESP17)
- Teaching Staff Application for Service Increment (ESP18)
- Application for Childcare Credit (ESP19)
To obtain a salary reassessment you will need to complete a Teaching Application for Salary Assessment ESP7.
These forms are available on the Education Payroll website:
http://www.schoolpayroll.govt.nz select forms and download the ESP7 application.
This application must be returned with certified copies of all the documents.
If you are presenting Statements of Service for teaching service credit purposes, these statements must contain a start date (day month year), finish date, description of service (full time or part time, if part time then the total hours or days worked must be detailed). If you are presenting copies, these must be certified.
Photocopies of original documents are acceptable if clearly endorsed (certified), as true copies by a reputable person e.g. Solicitor, Justice of the Peace or Principal.
In the case of the Principal the certification should be accompanied by the official school stamp.
